THE OTHER WOLF WORKSHOP

In a 2-day workshop in 2019 at Patricia Clarke Studio in Carpinteria we promoted the positivity in us all by stitching encouraging words and images onto cotton handkerchiefs and linens. This workshop was inspired by Pano Arte and the Tiny Pricks Project. Pano Arte is the Chicano Folk Art of drawing with ballpoint pens on handkerchiefs, originating in Southwestern prisons and created primarily by Chicano inmates. The Tiny Pricks Project is a public art project where contributors from around the world stitch words onto textiles. The Other Wolf” is taken from an old Cherokee parable that speaks of two wolves fighting inside each of us. One is evil and one is good. The one you feed is the one that wins.
